Restricted to OU students, faculty, and staff Factiva  - New database! Factiva is a business and general reference resource with a broad collection of sources covering a variety of disciplines from business and current events to communications and technology, politics, foreign policy, and more. It is now available in Databases A-Z.
Platform Change - ACLS Humanities eBooks

ACLS Humanities - The ACLS Humanities eBook Collection has moved to a new platform. We have updated our information systems to ensure a smooth transition and this should be a seamless process for most users - but there are some complications that may arise.

If you have links to individual eBooks in Moodle or other resources, these links will need to be updated. The existing platform will stay live for 60 days, and the old urls will continue to link to that platform during this time period. Not all of the eBooks in the collection are currently appearing in Library OneSearch, so we suggest going directly to the ACLS Humanities collection (link above) to obtain current URLs.

Please contact us with any issues or questions that arise.

Harvard Business Review
We recently received an inquiry from a patron who was having difficulty linking from Library OneSearch to an article in the Harvard Business Review (HBR), which is included full-text (1985-present) in Business Source EliteHBR does not allow openURL linking from external sources; therefore citations to HBR articles in Library OneSearch will not link directly to the full-text article. To access content from the Harvard Business Review, search or browse the journal directly.

Q: I have a citation to a journal article. How can I determine if it's available online through the library?

A: In Library OneSearch, choose Get It @ OU Libraries in the top menu, and then fill in as much information about the article as you can.
Q: I have a link to an article from one of the library's databases but I can't access the article when I'm off campus. Help!

A: To access the library's electronic resources from off-campus, you will need to add a proxy prefix to the resource's URL. Paste your URL to an article, journal, database, etc. in the search box at the site below, and then copy the new URL for use off-campus.

Q: Why do I have to login with my NetID and password to read an eBook even when I'm on campus?

A: One of the library's major eBook platforms - Proquest eBook Central - requires us to force this authentication both on- and off-campus.
Q: I am having trouble accessing Google Scholar from off-campus when using the link from the Databases A-Z page.  How can I access this resource?

A: If you encounter problems with Google Scholar, you can still access this resource directly at http://scholar.google.com. See our guide to adding OU Libraries resources to Google Scholar
