While the Kresge Library building is temporarily closed, research consultations can still be scheduled with a librarian remotely.
From the library website, click on Research Help to expand the options and select Research Consultations.
This will bring you to the scheduling screen. Select the librarian and time slot you are interested in for your research consultation. (Note: Choosing “No Preference” for Librarian will give you every available time slot.)
Once you have chosen your time, it will direct you to fill out the consultation details. All fields highlighted in yellow must be filled out. Click Confirm Appointment when you are done.
Once you confirm your appointment, the librarian you have scheduled it with will send you an email containing your Google Meet session information. You will have the option to either do a video conference or dial-in with your phone.
If you choose to do a video conference, at the time of your meeting, open the link. You may need to allow access to your microphone and/or video if you want to have a face-to-face meeting.
When your microphone and camera are turned on, the icons will have a white circle with a black background. If you choose to turn off your camera, the icon will become red and have a strike through it, and the video screen will tell you the camera is off.
Once you have configured your settings, you can join the meeting by clicking Ask to join, and you’ll be connected with your librarian to have your research consultation!
