Early American Imprints: Exporting References to RefWorks

Export Records to Legacy RefWorks (Orange):
- Once you find an item of interest, you can use the Export Citation link in the top left on the screen (above the PDF display of your item).
- You will be prompted to download and save a file in RIS format. Save that file to your computer.
- Log in to Legacy RefWorks.
- Under the References dropdown menu, select Import.
- Select RIS Format as the data source and RIS Format as the database.
- Click the Browse button.
- Locate the RIS file you saved to your computer, select it and click Open.
- Click Import.
- Your records should appear in the Last Imported folder.

Export Records to New RefWorks (Blue):
- Once you find an item of interest, you can use the Export Citation link in the top left on the screen (above the PDF display of your item).
- You will be prompted to download and save a file in RIS format. Save that file to your computer.
- Log in to New RefWorks.
- Click the plus button to add a reference.
- Select Import References.
- Drag and drop your saved RIS file to the indicated space OR click Select a file from your computer, select your file and click Open.
- RefWorks should recognize the file as an RIS file. Select RIS Format from the dropdown menu.
- Click Import.
- Your record should appear in the Last Imported folder.
